Welcome to Maryland ASCD!

As an Affiliate State Member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, our challenge is to offer our members valuable resources pertinent to the current status of education in Maryland, as well as nationally and internationally. We want to work with you to provide support to educators that will continue the tradition in Maryland of teaching excellence while keeping educators and students healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

The past two years have been challenging times in education as we worked through the pandemic. Educators have spent many hours implementing new strategies to reach students and searched for ways to be innovative in meeting educational goals to deliver a quality educational experience to our students. It has been a learning experience for us as educators, in turn stressful, energizing, confusing, and illuminating…probably even more!

In addition, the entire education system of Maryland, pre-K through college level will be involved in a massive reorganization as we implement the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. The legislation behind this five-year project will affect every facet of education in our state, from providing programs for our youngest citizens, as well as accerations, new options, and requirements that will affect programs and curriculum from Kindergarten through high school. We will also see changes in Teacher Education programs, student teaching, recertification
levels.

It will be our goal to provide the information and support you need. We are working to develop opportunities to meet, virtually for now, to share expertise from members across Maryland. Please fill out the short, 3 question survey here to share information about you that will guide our program. Our membership in the Council of Educational Administrators and Supervisors of Maryland (CEASOM) gives you access to many of the other professional associations across the state. Their link is on our home page. And, as always, ASCD is a source of high-quality, diverse professional resources for free, or at a low cost. Our goal is to support educators, families, community members, and policymakers as they move from a vision of educating the whole child to sustainable, collaborative actions.
